I'm getting better... really. Or at anyrate, that's what Professor X says, and he'd know, right?

Cause it's been ages since I've done something like phase out of my clothes (*blushes*) or try to phase and fail and run into a wall.

Yeah, ok, when I have nightmares I still sometimes phase through the bed, but it's not as bad as the first time I did that. I almost broke my ankle phasing back in too high off the ground...

It's just... it's an awfully useless power. Great, no one can hit me. Makes life at school easier, but well... it's awfully cowardly. And I can't really fight, so even if I wanted to stay solid I'd still just get hurt.

It's not even like I can protect anyone else! Half the time I can't even phase stuff I'm carrying and all my books end up on the floor or something. Professor X says I ought to be able to, cause I never drop the things in my pockets, now that I've mastered keeping my clothes with me, but I just can't do it! Let alone people who are alive and move about and what if I hurt somebody!

I finished my math problem set. I know it's not due until Thursday but ... numbers are clean...

I'm gonna go to bed now. Tomorrow's the trip and it'll be fun and I need sleep. Don't worry, I'm ok really.

Well, today was interesting...

The museum was lots of fun, and I think Yana really liked the dinosaur (Piotr, did you get the picture?). She's called it Velvet Golden, which I think is really cute, but I tried to get her to explain where the name came from and I just got really confused. x_celsis, a) I hope you and Ms. Braddock are ok and that security isn't too bad on you and b) what on earth does Velvet Goldmine have to do with God? (I assume that's the movie Yana said you were talking about it...) I looked it up on imdb.com and it looked, um, interesting... but I don't know that it's something for students... I mean, it's rated R... 0_0

Anyway, the trip ended pretty suddenly. Still not sure what started the whole thing, but John, you're a bit of a hot head. :p We love you anyway though...

And then I sat with x_storm watching the news until she and Ms. Grey went on a mission. The news people are a bit idiotic sometime. They still don't know anything about the mutant who did it, or have any new news at all, but they're *still* talking about it. Gave up on the networks about two hours ago when they started repeating themselves for the 8th time. I'm sure *we* will get new news before they do.

Anyway... Dinner was weird. Everybody's so tense, and x_rogue's friend is back, but all the rest of the adults seem to be away working... I'm kinda torn.

Everybody's away, so we kids practically control the Mansion, so we could play around, but I'm kinda tired and there's finals to get ready for... plus I'm kinda scared of Rogue's friend... Sure, she likes him, and he seems nice...

Maybe I'll just go read with the talking heads for company. (That's what my dad always called newcasters. Now I'm starting to see why...)
