Spent most of last night with [livejournal.com profile] x_essex. I've learned a lot from him, and I think I'm going to learn a lot more as time goes on. I know genetics isn't my normal thing, but it's really interesting, even when it is confusing.

The doctor is being kind and the readings he gave me are fairly light on the biology, more chem based, which is good. Chem may be only my third or fourth love in the sciences, but I'm aces better at it than bio.

Made it through my first couple finals alright. Will probably continue to survive the rest, even if I do fret too much. At least I haven't done what I did last term when I shut myself in my room to study and forgot to eat for two days. Almost passing out during my french final was a bad thing. But hey, I learned my lesson.

Off to make sandwiches and then to see about getting my ass handed to me at MarioKart. [livejournal.com profile] x_beast, you really are too good at that game.

If you want help with the bio parts I wouldn't mind making a down payment on physics tutoring. :) Mom more-or-less stopped with Mendel with me, but she and Dad did a lot of background reading on mutation and they aren't nearly good enough at changing their passwords regularly--not that they wouldn't have let me read the stuff anyway, you understand, but it was more fun that way--and it was kind of slow going but I think I made it through all right.

. . . Actually, that's probably why Dr. Essex's name has been bugging me, I think there was a paper or two of his in there.

Mind if I come and watch the MarioKart? I'd be no competition if I tried to play, but watching racing games is as much fun anyway. I made another batch of those cookies . . .

I may definitely take you up on that offer. He's giving me low-bio emphasis and some of it still manages to go over my head.

And I've got no objection to an audience and I can't imagine Dr. McCoy would either, esspecially if you bring him cookies-of-great-joy.

Consider me there, then. :) I'm sending some home to Mom to show her how they turned out, but can definitely spare some for the admission fee.

Where do we have Mario Kart? I used to play that with my little sister. She always beat me. I liked to be the big monkey.

[livejournal.com profile] x_beast has the greatest console system known to man. It's in the basement.

The big monkey is a favorite of mine, but so is the pretty pretty princess, so I could consent to let the monkey go to you, if you were to challenge me to a game.

It's so nice to have opponents at the ready. I always feel a bit sad when I have to match myself at the game -- one controller in my hands, one in my feet, and I usually end up crashing at least twice per lap into the river for want of paying attention.

I wish I could play Mario Kart with my feet. That would be cool.

I'd love to race you, but you can be the big monkey if you want. I like the mushroom too. We could have a tournament. And then the winner could play my little sister, because she could kick all our butts.
